THE HAGUE CONTEMPORARY ARTIST TALKS 'MY PRACTICE, MY POLITICS'
During the The Hague Contemporary Weekend 2018 (July 6-8) a series of artist talks take place at various museums, art spaces and galleries. On Sunday July 8 Adriana Gonzalez Hulshof, programme maker / cultural promotor in contemporary art and performative arts and founder of Amsterdam Art | Weekend, moderates several talks in the city.
At Stroom Den Haag, Gonzalez Hulshof will have a conversation with artists Fahmy Shahin, Katarina Petrović, Yamuna Forzani, Miguel Peres Dos Santos and Klodiana Millona, all participating in Stroom's exhibition 'My Practice, My Politics' (until 15 July, 2018).
The interdisciplinary exhibition - curated by Saskia Van Stein and Agata Jaworska - interconnects fine arts, photography, artistic research and various design disciplines and explores how art is inherently political. The exhibition expands ideas of political modes of expression. Through a wide array of artistic practices, the presentation conveys manifestations, interfaces and exchanges between the individual and the societal. It portrays the way in which artists and designers capture their views on society through the subject matter they explore, the language and tools they employ, the aesthetics they manifest, and the communities they engage.Artists in the exhibition:Eline Benjaminsen, Kristina Benjocki, Jean-Baptiste Castel, Yamuna Forzani, Daniel Grumer, Klodiana Millona, Miguel Peres dos Santos, Katarina Petrovic, Fahmy Shahin, Gitte Svendsen, Abel Wolff.
